Tatanka is located in Stroud, Oklahoma, halfway between Oklahoma City and Tulsa, right off highway 44. Tatanka includes 20 individual cabins and one guest house, Lodge for gathering, Rec Room with indoor games, Wedding Barn, Bridal Suite, outdoor Pavilion with grill and picnic tables, multiple outdoor fire pits, swimming pool, Lake Tatanka, a gazebo with a large firepit, and Tatanka playground. With your rental of Tatanka you have access to outdoor games like cornhole, volleyball, horseshoes, bocce ball, canoes, kayaks, fishing, and more.

  • How do I reserve a date for my event at Tatanka?

    A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking to reserve your date for your event. The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferrable toward a different date or event. After the deposit has been paid you have up until a month before your event date to pay for the remaining balance. You can make payments along the way, large periodic payments, or a large lump-sum payment at the 30-day mark.

  • Do I need event insurance?

    No, Tatanka Ranch is fully insured. You are welcome to purchase additional insurance if you deem necessary.

  • What happens if I need to postpone or reschedule my event?

    If you reschedule, you will lose your previous deposit and a new one is required to reserve your new date. The new date must be selected within 30 days of written notice of the postponement.

  • What is your alcohol policy?

    You are welcome to bring your own alcohol anywhere on the property except the Event Center. If your rental includes access to the Event Center for any reason, you are required to purchase alcohol through Tatanka Ranch for your event. No outside alcohol can be brought into or out of the Event Center.

  • What is your dog policy?

    We love our furry friends but don’t consider us pet-friendly on the property unless the animal is a licensed service animal. We are in rural Oklahoma and are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage to your personal belongings. If you must bring your non-service animal with you during your stay a $150 pet fee will be applied to your invoice.

  • Are we required to use your catering services?

    No, you are not required to use our catering services. If you would like to use a different caterer for food service in the Event Center, they must be a licensed Oklahoma caterer. Also, a $250 outside caterer fee will be applied to your invoice.

  • How many guests can Tatanka accommodate for events?

    For weddings, our max capacity is 200 guests.

  • How many guests can Tatanka accommodate for overnight stays?

    We have a total of 20 cabins and one guest house. There are a total of 46 individual beds.

  • When does our rental start for wedding bookings?

    Your reservation gives you access to the venue from 12 p.m. Friday – 12pm Sunday the weekend of your wedding. DJ/entertainment vendors and any alcohol service must stop by 11 p.m. in the Event Center. After 11pm you are welcome to continue the after party in the Lodge.

  • Do we have access to the venue for rehearsal?

    Yes! Your wedding booking includes a one-hour rehearsal with our wedding coordinator the Friday before your wedding.

  • Can we take engagement photos or bridal portraits at the venue?

    Yes! We love it when our couples use our space and land for photos. We just ask that you contact us to schedule ahead of time and have your photographer tag us in any posts on social media!

  • Do you provide tables and chairs?

    Yes. We provide up to 20 (60″) round tables, 200 wooden, cross back brown chairs for the reception area, 10 (8′) rectangular tables, 3 (32″) round bar height cocktail tables, and up to 200 white garden chairs for the reception.

  • Do you provide linens?

    Yes, ivory, white, or black table linens are available for all booked weddings and events in the reception area. We also have ivory cushions that can be put on the chairs as well.

  • When is the last time I can make a decision regarding an indoor or outdoor ceremony?

    We are flexible on this because we know Oklahoma’s weather can be unpredictable. We like to make a call the morning of the wedding ceremony date.

  • What décor is not permitted?

    Candles must be in glass containers and the flame cannot go above the glass.

    Glitter, rice, silly string, confetti of all types and gel-like substances are not permitted anywhere on the property

    Sand may only be used inside enclosed containers.

    Silk flower petals cannot be used outdoors but can be used inside.

    Birdseed can only be used outdoors

    Chinese lanterns, balloons and any other substances deemed unsafe for the environment not permitted to be released anywhere on the property – this is an Oklahoma State law.
